Exceptional, museum quality, set of late 19th century, hand embroidered, crewelwork, Tester Bedcurtains, 7ft 3 inches high., totalling 16ft long

- A rare survival; hand embroidered textiles were the most valuable items in a home, these handstitched, embroideries were made for the highest status piece of furniture in the home, a tester bed - These embroidered hangings have a characterful naïve charm. Handworked with a repeated stylised design, of birds, insects, fruits and flowers each with minor differences in the scale of the detailing on a woodgrain simulated background. - It would be possible to make a simple tester bed to showcase these bedcurtains or adapt them to fit an existing bed. - They would also make fabulous curtains and could be extending using a secondary textile.

- Or they could be used as hangings creating either a formal structure in a room individually, or made into one large hanging. - Recently cleaned, conserved, stablised and backed onto a gold Prelle linen - Kashmir, circa 1880.
