The 2 piece, plank top with a solid, moulded edge and curved corners. The top is attached to the base with fine wooden pegs which enable it to be slid forwards to give more overhang for sitting and working at. The frieze is fitted with two small drawers with original working locks and crisply carved with a stylized vase of flowers and leafy motifs. The sides also crisply carved with stylized leaf motifs. Standing on boldly turned legs with an x-stretcher and turned finial. Excellent original colour and patina. First half of the 18th century.
