The pine frame with a recent repair bracing the back (see photographs). The double-arched, padded back, centering a serpentine cushioned seat, and flanked with scrolling, high wings and overscrolled arms. Re-upholstered in a late-18th century, green, cut-velvet faced with 20th century rouche and fringe. Standing on sweeping, cabriole legs with finely, carved mask heads extending into acanthus leaf carving on the pad feet. One block missing. Excellent colour and patina. English, third quarter of the 18th century.
