A fine, late-17th century, walnut, upholstered armchair
The rectangular back and seat are re-upholstered in a modern cut-velvet. The arms, uprights, legs, front, side and central stretcher are all, finely turned. This is a form of sleeping chair with the extended rake on the back and the block feet on the rear legs providing extra support.
Excellent original colour and patina. French, last half of the 17th century.
