A fine, mid-17th century, oak chest of drawers with cushion and geometric mouldings

In two parts. The upper part with a rectangular top made two sections, and finished with a moulded edge. The shallow frieze simply carved, and the front fitted with a top, shallow drawer, above a deep drawer and two medium-depth drawers. The large drawer decorated with stylised, geometric applied and cushion mouldings.

The smaller drawers decorated with cushion mouldings. The handles and brass escutcheons replaced and the locks. The drawers lined in oak. The stiles decorated with applied mouldings. The sides panelled. Standing on original bun feet. Excellent original colour and patina. English, third quarter of the 17th century.
