A fine, mid-17th century, carved oak coffer

The four panelled lid with original ring hinges revealing an interior lined with old workbook pages. The lock removed. The three panelled front crisply carved with stylised foliate motifs. The frame with guilloche carving. On original stile feet. Excellent original colour and patina.
