The cresting rail is finely carved with putti, either side of a crown. The barley-twist uprights are surmounted by finials above blocks carved with flowerheads. The caned back has crisp flowerhead and acanthus leaf carving. The caned seat has similar ornament, and a loose cushion upholstered in 18th century velvet. Standing on scrolled front legs, with finely carved central stretcher mirroring the cresting rail, joined by barley-twist turned ‘H’ stretchers. Struck WR to each seat rail, struck SC to rear upright and branded JP.
