A pair of mid-17th century, oak scabelli chairs

Description / Expertise
The crestings with central acanthus leaf and scrollwork either side of masks. The backs with a central cartouche surrounded by scrollwork and acanthus leaf motifs. The circular seats with a ring of leaves and scrolls in each corner supported by a shaped front board carved with animal masks, a central vase, scrollwork and acanthus leaves on paw feet. The shaped back board with gadrooning. Excellent orginal colour and patina.
